Your receipt printer stopped responding? It's not the printer, and it's not your POS. It's Chrome.
The exact symptoms: you click "Print receipt"… and nothing happens. No error message. The printer is on, the Windows test page prints fine, and it all worked yesterday or last week. You've rebooted, unplugged, reinstalled: nothing helps.
If this sounds familiar, your hardware is innocent: a security update in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (rolling out since 28 October 2025) silently blocks the communication between your online POS software and your receipt printer.

Why rebooting or reinstalling fixes nothing
This blocking is called "Local Network Access". It is a Google decision, enforced by Chrome and by every browser sharing its engine (Edge, Brave, Opera…). The browser now forbids websites — including your online POS — from talking to the devices in your store, printer included. The blocking is silent: neither your POS software, nor Windows, nor the printer can show an error, because from their point of view… nothing ever arrived.
That is why the usual repairs fail: the problem is not in the printer, not in the drivers, not in the POS software. Even players like Dell and Cisco/Duo had to publish official notices for their own products affected by this change. Full timeline and sources here.

The extension works with most online POS systems that print through a small utility installed on the PC — the most common setup with a USB receipt printer. The simplest way to check: the free 24-hour trial, which tells you in 2 minutes. Check my compatibility →
