Why did my receipt printer stop working when it worked fine yesterday?
Since late October 2025, Chrome and Edge progressively block communication between websites (including your online POS) and local devices — receipt printers included. This restriction ("Local Network Access") activates when the browser updates itself, with no message at all. Your printer and your POS are healthy.
Do I need a new printer?
No. If the Windows test page prints correctly, your printer is not at fault. The blocking is in the browser — replacing hardware solves nothing.
Does switching to Firefox solve the problem?
Not any more, since 21 July 2026. It was true until then, and we said so: Firefox was the exception. Its version 153 release notes now state that "Local Network Access restrictions are now enabled by default for all users". There is no safe-haven browser left: Chrome blocks since 142, Edge since 143, Firefox since 153. The full dated breakdown is on our browser table.
Isn't allowing the site in Chrome's settings enough?
In theory it should be. In practice, we have documented cases where Chrome ignores its own settings (permission saved but not applied, enterprise policies shown as "not set"). And every browser update can undo everything. Hence our extension: a durable repair, without fragile settings.
Is my POS software supported?
The extension works with most online POS systems that print through a utility installed on the PC — the standard setup with a USB receipt printer. The simplest way to know: the free 24-hour trial, which confirms it in 2 minutes without paying anything.

Is it legal / risky for my POS?
The extension alters neither your POS software, nor your sales data, nor your tax compliance: it only restores the transport of receipts to the printer — a function your POS already performed. Everything is reversible.
